| Following is a brief overview of the processes involved in the production of one of our resin bodies.... Firstly a primary pattern is crafted from scratch, each model is extensively researched in order to ascertain the correct dimensional and detail information. From this information detailed plans are drawn in 1/32 scale and transposed to our pattern.... a mould is made from the primary pattern using a selected grade of silicon rubber in order to perfectly reproduce the shape and detail of the pattern.... from this mould a 'slush' cast (slush casting is to pour a small amounts of resin into the mould and coat the sides with it by rotating the mold while the resin cures) of carefully selected polyurethane resin is made providing a primary casting so that detail such as grilles, panel lines and window frames can be added.... Once the detailing is completed a two-part mould is taken of this new pattern providing a basis for the casting of finished bodies for kits. |
